the question you need to ask however is, what right does a gov have to keep tabs on its citizens that happen to own guns? this is a bad idea as far as i'm concerned, just like gov sanctioned med weed, why would you want the gov knowing anything, that's not their job at all, their job is to make sure a couple things run smoothly, not pontificate on CNN, not restrict my freedoms i dont need to ask permission for and its certainly not to make up bs legislation to save face.
