@Moon @piggo Scanners and printers' software is about equally cursed. But in printers' favor, there is usually more work done to eventually find a way to make it work.

But on the other hand, printers also another entire layer of horrible bullshit to deal with in the mechanical realm, whereas scanners usually simpler and less prone to failure.
