sadly @kschwabable@twitter.com @FastCompany@twitter.com (and @brbarrett@twitter.com @Wired@twitter.com and @sarahintampa@twitter.com @TechCrunch@twitter.com, and ...) forgot to mention that Firefox Send is hosted on the #Google Cloud Platform, so the authenticity of the JavaScript performing the encryption is ensured only by the TLS certificate there.
I think I've come to the conclusion that I enjoy web development - I just fucking hate the industry. (What I've seen of it so far at least).
Business' don't have any concern with the basic rights of people (privacy specifically). Yes they stick a "Privacy Policy" in the right place, but that's only to tell you how they are violating it, in general.
We really are in a dirty place in the networked age. We need to do better. And developers need to stop worshipping at the alter if fucking #google
@blort @johnnynull I noticed years ago that #DDG’s results differ from #Yahoo’s, which differ from #Bing’s. Non-bubbling may be part of it, but it doesn’t explain the sharply different results (or at least sort order of the results) between the Bing and Yahoo.
It doesn’t surprise me that #Startpage’s results differ from #Google’s, even beyond the filter bubble.
As for which to use, I use a variety, including Startpage, but the main one is determined mainly by quality of results, and Startpage’s results are generally inferior to #DuckDuckGo and to #Searx & #Seeks (but far superior to #YaCy or the abysmal results that #Ask gives).
And those working at #Google who protested Project Maven & drone warfare might be surprised to learn that somewhere in Google's chart, there is a guy whose business card reads: "Director of Defense and Intelligence Sales." #FuckOffGoogle
@geniusmusing #DDG is my primary search engine. #YaCy is my secondary. I still end up switching to #StartPage / #Google / #Seeks for 2 or 3 out of 10 searches because search results aren’t satisfactory.
So, those #Facebook#VPN services for iPhone that hoover up all people's data that everyone is up in arms about -- at least one of them is available for #Android too.
Search the Google Play store for 'Onavo' to see for yourself.
Apple banned this damaging garbage, let's put the pressure on #Google to end it there as well.
