The thesis was - for me - a bit disjointed (between Menendez and Power/Authority) due to the casual tone of the show. I listened again, and uncovered the connector: The cynical left doesn't have the will or the patience to naturally accrue authority? They are satisfied in their base, beastial, power struggles?
