"This calculation resulted in a price of $419, and Musk stated that he rounded the price up to $420 because he had recently learned about the number's significance in marijuana culture and thought his girlfriend 'would find it funny, which admittedly is not a great reason to pick a price.'"

@hannahcomb Yeah, you're missing something - the guy in the youtube video was supposedly a random passerby participating in a trick in Magic for Humans
@asura_e The one where he snatches the purse and appears dressed as cop in a car in supposedly the same shot.
@PurpleNinja Here's the guy from the invisibility trick https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kcXergLG1Q
Rollercoaster of emotions as I go from being amazed by Magic for Humans on Netflix to discovering that actors were used and most likely camera tricks too. 😦
Using Tusky thanks to Guacamole @Gargron 's recommendation on changelog
@Tom hey tom
I was invited to The Changelog podcast, where we chatted about Mastodon and ActivityPub https://changelog.com/podcast/315
Mastodon is on XKCD! (And the misspelling was corrected!) https://xkcd.com/2045/
A note to new users, we have this handy quick start guide if you're confused https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2018/08/mastodon-quick-start-guide/
I thought this was important to share. By /u/i_have_no_ygrittes on /r/aww
To be more transparent about server blocks, I have decided to follow the example of others and publish a list: https://github.com/Gargron/mastodon.social-misc/blob/master/README.md
That list is now linked from our about page. It also explains how different block severities work.
You might notice that bofa.lol is on the list. It's at the very least a temporary measure because our mods had to deal with a lot of problematic content coming from that place yesterday.
I'm not happy with how the Wil Wheaton situation was resolved. An admin was overwhelmed with frivolous reports about him and felt forced to exile him. I've said before that I think it sets a dangerous precedent on how a large group of people can mobilize to drive anyone off the fediverse. Mob rule is universally dangerous: Mods and admins must examine evidence and decide based on wrongdoing and danger, and not on how many times someone was reported.
I'm now getting DMs of support because people are afraid if they agree publicly they'll be harassed next. That's not a good atmosphere folks.
For mastodon.social users:
Dogpiling and harassment are off-limits no matter how justified you think you are. The rules are for everyone.
Strongly considering adding screenshot-dunking to the code of conduct as well. We don't need that culture here.
