@priryo Christ yes, it's dreadful. KMail and the other PIM packages put a whole load of junk in the menus. What even is Ktnef? Luckily, there's a right-click and hide application function.
@priryo They were never going to give us a day off! The only reason they're even having this wedding is so they can release bad Brexit news over the weekend and we'll all ignore it because look! Z-list American and B-team royal!
@douginamug I use KDE - it's really nice and I haven't found any reason whatsoever to switch.
You can customise it quite a bit, and it has lots of little niceties, like the built in clipboard manager and the Connect feature that lets you do stuff on your phone (like clear notifications or reply to SMS) from your computer.
@samtoland@bobstechsite Not at all! I get the odd one, even though I don't identify as male or female and make that clear on my profile.
They usually come from people I've never spotted on my timeline before who have no or very few posts - as if they are just following me to get access to my follower-only toots (of which there are very few).
Or they are @noagendasocial.com which seems to be a Creepy Instance(tm).
@cat I had a major clearout when I found myself online looking for another external HD. I just deleted all the rubbish off the one I already have and saved Β£70
@bobstechsite I've heard this from others. I haven't experienced it myself because I'm not male identified, but other Mastodon users who have an obviously male name/avatar/ID etc have had quite a number of random follows and spammy notifications from some Switter users.
@cathal@samtoland Like I say, nothing against the Switter instance or the people using it at all. I'm just not in the market for the services provided and I am unlikely ever to be, so I'd rather see other content.
