@udell_games that's when I finally understood No Man's Sky

sitting in my cockpit, listening to the lethal rainstorm outside, waiting for it to pass so I could climb a hill and maybe catch another glimpse of something like that eclipse

@udell_games but like from that screenshot I didn't make it to the ground and out of the cockpit before the next storm came rolling in

and so I spent a while just sitting there in my cockpit listening to the storm (which other than the shift in haze density you couldn't actually *see* from within the cockpit at the time)

@udell_games like I was kind of enjoying it but not massively so? and then by sheer serendipity just as I was about to put it down one night, and possibly for good, I just flew right into this and just went "HOLY FUCK" out loud at the TV

No Man's Sky owns and I will fight anyone who says otherwise

they hooked a spectator client up to the big projector in the hall as well so everyone could watch

one of the contestants managed about two minutes of reasonably competent play before he spent the rest of the compo looking either at the floor or ceiling

one of the LAN parties I attended in my early 20s ran a Drunk Quake competition at 2am on Sunday (ie. like six hours before the end of the party)

at the start of it they lined up all the contestants on stage with a breathalyser and checked that they'd all had reached a minimum threshold of blood alcohol

one guy got disqualified right there because he wasn't drunk enough

I'm sure that a friend of mine when I was in school got a VHS copy of a programme he appeared in by writing a letter with a standard form to the Bavarian regional public broadcaster (in exchange for a fee for the work and materials obviously)

wondering: do the BBC and ARD have physical archives that are open to the public for visiting to go and view/borrow?/copy any media produced by them? if not, why not

public broadcasters' web/streaming offers are total fucking dogshit. stuff pulled or never uploaded or only uploaded as collections of clips for whatever fucking reasons, geoblocked, fuck knows what else

I know of at least two separate countries where this is the case

aside from just being legit really fun music I think between Weapon of Choice, The Joker and Rockafeller Skank I also like Fatboy Slim a lot because that's a whole bunch of my favourite ever music videos
