This whole antenna project started because our cable company started encrypting, FREE, over the air broadcasts. They spun it to the punters as, 'Good news! We're going all digital! All you need to do now is rent a decryption device from us.'

...one for every TV in the house.

@theru That coax comes from the grounding lug. (That is the the first thing the cable company hits before splitting off into the house.) But, I had the cable company's coax going right into my cable modem. Oo

You mentioning that coax did make me rethink... I should still be going through the grounding lug before I hit my modem. Lightning season is coming!

I just went down and fixed that.

Heh @theru, MrsNYbill has been wanting some $400+ vacuum for months now. But, doesn't really "need" it.

I went down stairs and said, "You know that vacuum you want, but don't really "need"? I have a something in the same price range that I want. But, I don't really "need". Shall we treat ourselves?

That Azon order was ~$900+. :P
