@yisraeldov Selfhosted Gitlab then. Gitlab.com is hosted on the Google Cloud, so that's not the best option either. :/

Can we please stop using this proprietary US based service for libre software projects now?

If you use GitHub's online services in a country facing US sanctions, you could be about to be kicked off all but the most basic offerings.

@e8johan Same here. Their UI is just weird. It feels like they wanted to create something totally unique at the cost of being usable. :/

@coffe @ohyran @kungtotte @kev I recommend Nextcloud. It's a fork of ownCloud by the guy who created ownCloud. He didn't like what it had become, he wanted something more community friendly.

@kungtotte @kev Me personally is mostly bothered about the modern social media and instant messaging services. If you're not using anything proprietary badware like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Signal and/or Telegram you're basically screwed and left alone in the cold.

People can't even be bothered remembering your birthday unless you have added it on Facebook for them to remind your friends about it.

@kev I think so to sometimes as well. The smartphone is great and all, but I don't like what it's doing with people.

I also think that all tech is moving too fast, people barley understand basic web browsing, yet they're making themselves dependent on tons of tech and various online services.

@iah No working backups for the past two weeks at the day of the incident.

With that said, they did do a great job at manually restoring as much as possible.
