@hhardy01 As I understand it, another referendum would be hard to do, since British law requires months to set one up and campaign.

The Guardian article you sent claims that Labour MPs won't vote for PM May's deal without greater protection of workers' rights. But is that true? I read that some Labour supporters view the EU as neo-liberal, and think #Brexit might be part of the path to a more socialist UK. The deal might be able to get enough Labour votes or abstentions.

    @hhardy01 Omnishambles!

The brexiteers should back PM May's deal; it's the best they'll get through the House, and after being officially out they'll be able to wiggle looser (if that's in accord with future public sentiment).

If #Article_13 is anywhere near as bad as we’ve heard, people in many EU nations may start wishing they had their own version of #Brexit.

@hhardy01 Have they finished the indicative votes? I believe calling off #Brexit was one of the choices.

It appears that the UK Parliament has decided that "taking back control" is akin to being three and tantruming at Tescos while parents urgently shrug off their embarrassment. Except less mature. #brexit

It's a mistake to take #ZeroHedge uncritically – they don't even spell Jacob properly in this post. But they're right, there really *is* such a thing as the Moggcast.

And yes, Mr. Rees-Mogg does seem to have decided that the choice for Eurosceptics is now between PM May's deal and staying in the EU; a deal they prefer or no-deal do not seem to be realistic possibilities. So perhaps the third time really will be the charm for PM May...

Had a local council election polling card shoved through my door. I wonder if all us voters shouldn't just hang around the polling station arguing with each other over selfish self-interest points while letting the election go down the toilet? #Brexit #BrexitMayhem

The creator spoke about it yesterday and turns out she’s a piece of work, telling people how to ‘legally’ acquire guns and bring them to the House of Commons.

There’s even a tea towel informing us how old people have died since the referendum took place. Lovely people!

Yet the attention has been on the Leave campaign overspending and how the Kremlin supposedly wanted #Brexit.

If I were a Briton, I think I would have voted for Remain. That being said, I think it is the case that the citizens of the UK have always been interested in the EU as an economic project, but for France and Germany (and of course the EU institutions) it is fundamentally a political project.

If what you really want is Free Trade, it is not unreasonable to reject ever closer union.

@hhardy01 The indecision of Parliament and the break-down of Tory unity are real, but *The Guardian* somehow omits the hostility of Labour MPs to Jeremy Corbyn as a reason why the chaos continues.

Personally, I tend to think the H of C ought to accept PM May's deal, but that is a very low confidence opinion.

I mentioned previously the relationship between national identity & voting. The following chart shows how people voted in the EU referendum (Leave/Remain) against how they identified on the English <-> British spectrum. The results in essence: more English = more Leave.

This encapsulates the very essence of Brexit.

    >>>
Summing up the debate, Barclay said: "It is time for this House to act in the national interest, it's time to put forward an extension that is realistic."

And then he voted against it.
    <<<

That was Stephen Barclay, Conservative MP and the Brexit Minister.
