#release 0.16.3 is out. I know, we jumped straight from the 0.16.1 to this one, the fact is that the 0.16.2 introduced a critical bug, so let assume it did not exist.

By upgrading, you'll fix:

- A CLI importer error on higher version of Python 3
- A front-end issue where the user was asked to chose an instance when visiting for the first time

#Funkwhale 0.16.1 is out. As you may guess, it's a minor #release, focusing more on bugfixes and stability than on new features.

However, this one still introduce a cool new thing: theming! That's right, instance owners can now use the full power of CSS to customize their instances. If you're interested, have a look at the documentation: https://docs.funkwhale.audio/configuration.html#theming

We're trying to fix the audio player on Chrome (and possibly other browsers), as audio is not playing at all.

Can you please visit http://front-funkwhale-funkwhale-392-new-player.preview.funkwhale.audio/library, add a track to your queue and ensure it plays correctly and you can change the volume using the control in the player?

We're especially interested for feedback for the following browsers:

- Google Chrome
- Chromium
- IE/Edge
- Opera

Yeah! The demo should be back up now, with more content. It now includes:

- fake users
- fake playlists
- fake favorites
- fake listenings (~scrobbles)

This is generated randomly, so the data will change everytime the demo is reset (every hour), featuring different artists, covers, etc.

All of this being tied to real music content provided by nice creators! Thank you so much for being so helpful, and don't worry, if your content was not included, it can easily be :)

I'm looking for musicians that want to see their work featured in Funkwhale's demo instance. The work must be under a free licence as it will be shared publicly.

It would be really great if the tracks contained album covers as well, since it's missing from the current demo!

@Troll is working on new design for core (and old) pages of Funkwhale, especially the landing pages. The end goal is to make those more useful to end users.

After discussing with @dansup this morning, I've opened a bunch of issues regarding user activity federation in Funkwhale: https://code.eliotberriot.com/funkwhale/funkwhale/milestones/8

You may remember that right now, federation is only about sharing tracks between instances. Once the previous milestone is implemented, users will be able to follow each others on the fediverse, comment on music on so on.

I guess I have my summer scheduled ;)

Well, it's time!

#Funkwhale 0.14 is out. There is no new "killer" feature in this #release, but it does include a lot of bugfixes, enhancements and even some new features. In fact, the changelog is probably the biggest one since the beginning of the project.

New features include:

- A new interface to browse and delete library files
- A new "upload" permission
- Defaults permissions, that may be granted automatically to all users of an instance

#Funkwhale now has a dedicated Mastodon account where new release announcements and other updates about the project status and activity will be published.

While publishing on my personal account (@eliotberriot) worked okay, I did not want to spam all of my followers with project-related stuff all the time.

Also, I know some of my followers are mainly interested in Funkwhale and are not really into my personnal life/toots ;)
