@nightblade9 Another and maybe better idea would be to make some extra eye-candy for the wizards dead. Maybe a white flash together with some dramatic SFX or something like this. (Would be easy to make because I only had to change my fade screen routine a little for this.)
Anyway I have already a good idea for a item that could be droped.
@nightblade9 Yes, I think an explosion would be a nice dramatic effect. On the other hand it also would hurt the player if he/she is to close and damage the surrounding. This could lead to a frustrating moment if you have been able to kill the wizard but get killd by his blast because you didn't know he will use this last trick. But in the and of the day the wizard is a bad guy, so nobody will expact him to fight fair. I'm still not sure about this.
ATM I'm thinking about how the evil wizard (boss of the 'main' quest of RogueBox Adventures) should die. If his LP drop to 0 he will say some famous final words. But whats next? Simply let him die and drop a cool item? Or let him explode instead? Both variants sound kinda rewarding to me.
I've never made a map in Doom before, but I've already started making impossible structures and infinite hallways. This game fucking rules, how come nobody ever told me this before?? (Everyone has been saying this for years I just ignored them)
@povoq This may be true. But I see my game mainly as something I do for my own pleasure. My original plan was to release the upcomming version in december 2018 but obviously that didn't work. Now my plan is to take the time I need and make the upcomming release of RogueBox Adventutes the best one so far. ;-)
Today I've made some nice progress with RogueBox Adventures 'main' quest! I hope I will have something I can show until comming weekend. All in all the comming release should be ready this summer (or early fall) at current development speed.

After some technical and real life issues I'm finally ready to toot again. π I don't have so much new to tell but that I was able to change my daily routines so I have now a bit more time to work on my game #rba and for my other hobby #reading as well. It feels good to be able to be creative for at least a few hours every week. I hope I will be able to go on this way and make slow but steady progress on RogueBox Adventures. π

Lately I've found a hidden gem of early science fiction literature. "Two Planets" by Kurd Lasswitz(1897). I had never expacted a story like this comming from germany at that time.
#til Legamus is a project similar to LibriVox where volumteers record audiobooks of works that are public domain in the EU (not US ... I know copyright sucks π). Its catalogue is much smaller then the one of LibriVox but seems to contain a few gems. π
Finally I got proper error messages for dialogues in RogueBox Adventures up to work! This is an important step to be able seperate the games logic from its engine. π'
