Finally bought one of those Chinese HackRF clones. I've been on the fence for weeks because it's entirely possible that there's some glaring issue like firmware not being flashed, but the Ebay seller has a reasonable return policy and there are some screenshots of it working with SDR#
Once-in-a-long-while reminder that I made an open source ASCII art, animation, and game creation tool called Playscii: http://vectorpoem.com/playscii People have made some pretty cool stuff with it! http://playscii.tumblr.com It's a dynamic, hackable thing written in Python so you can do all sorts of oddness with it.
@abs Long distance running is super rewarding, but be sure to take it slow when you're increasing the distance. My dad trained for the Twin Cities marathon by running half-marathon distances and winging it when the actual marathon rolled around. He made it through the marathon, but going from 21 km to 42 km was a big enough jump that he sustained an injury :<
@pounce 您要一个中文说的笔友吗? I'm not a native speaker by any means, but I've been meaning to get back into learning and also like the idea of having a sparring partner
@wasamasa Yeah, chia seeds aren't super flavorful on their own. I find you can make some pretty tasty pudding if you use whole coconut milk and bananas, but the seeds are just kinda there to absorb liquid and give it a pudding-y consistency. They're also good for you, but that's besides the point
@Dekken Yes, this is incredibly important when fasting. I attempted a water fast about three years ago and began to show symptoms of hyponatremia in the first 20 hours. It was not fun. Sodium tablets are good to have on hand
"he offer'd to give me a Patent for the sole Vending of them for a Term of Years; but I declin'd it from a Principle which has ever weigh'd with me on such Occasions, viz. That as we enjoy great Advantages from the Inventions of others, we should be glad of an Opportunity to serve others by any Invention of ours, and this we should do freely and generously"

Spent yesterday and today teaching my younger brother how to cook and not get ripped off on groceries since he's starting high school this fall. Good practical life skills, but I'm really doing it for my parents since I know they're going to miss having me make dinner every night
