My wife took this picture a few minutes later with the water even higher. Notice how those trees in the middle are now gone.

I can't explain to you how much rain has to fall in such a short period to get the river up to this level. I've seen it maybe 3 times in 12.5 years. I had never seen such intense rains until I came to Asia.
