Hey all, I'm really pleased with how this new picture of Eta Carinae turned out. The blue parts show novel morphology in Mg II discovered last year by Nathan Smith. More info: https://flic.kr/p/QMu1J2

Check out the nebula in today's APOD. Try to understand it. That's a star in the center with a torus of dust around it. The X shapes are understood to be a view of some conical structures viewed edgewise.
