He lived long and well. He was a naval aviator, a storyteller, a gentle wit, a warm presence and a curious mind.
A poet, also. I was touched to see many share verse in his memory, including one of my favorites from among his own (an elegy to books lost in a basement flood). His family just sent another, a poem he'd left to say goodbye.
I find that I already miss this stranger dearly! I'm so grateful he chose to share his thoughts and stories from afar... and you, yours.
