@DialMforMara Real answer: I see this a lot, where "criticism" comes in the form of some sort of fixation on the flaws of someone or something, and I think it's worth making the distinction, when one observes that. It ceases to be meaningful as constructive criticism when it's just a roast. I get your sentiment, too.

People don't want Gargron on their project even though he does 5x as much development as everyone else put together
but they don't wanna use Pleroma because the developers are evil subhumans
okay so
I fork Pleroma and make a New® ActivityPub server and name it after myself like I do with everything else. Call it TrevPub or something.
It's not Rails, it's not called Pleroma, it's not lain, and it's not Gargron. I crown myself lead developer and proceed to pull all of upstream's commits as normal.
