@kemonine Yes, .cloud was down more than once, at least one of those periods longer than a day.
Funny though, I was thinking of another instance I'm not on, which was blocked by a few instances but not cloud. I looked for its website but it wasn't functioning so maybe it went kaput altogether. I thought at first my instance's admin blocked it.

I want to love Mastodon and for a time I did, but one small instance I tooted my #introduction twice, in English and in French, and somehow cliques on a tiny instance read only their own. Even the ones that freshly migrated from Twitter or Metafilter.

@SlowRain I don't follow the same people. I do backup the data of whom I follow, but how many of them are inactive and are from kaput instances? How many gave up? I have an sdf.org instance account for more techy, retrocomputing interests. The mastodon.social instance was undisclosed, but used for painful or awkward toots.

I listened to a 1943 Jack Benny radio show. It was actually pretty funny, aside from Joe Besser's cartoony whiny-excitable yelling. I've been on an Oscar Levant streak this week, even rewatching "Charlie Chan at the Opera" -- Levant wrote the opera in the film.
