hang on it doesn't work. Let me check a setting somewhere

I don't know if this will work but we'll give it a try. Here is the last time I started writing something on a lark. I'll get back to this someday soon now that the writing gene has been reactivated. https://hub.farthinghalearms.com/cloud/jdm/E.A.S%20Elizabeth(3).pdf

I ought to be able to remember stuff from before I was conceived then

nice. we didn't actually plant pumpkin this year but the chickens were kind enough to plant a couple for us. We ended up with a couple of good sized pumpkins

I guess that I am an extremist too. It is not the worst thing I have ever been called

Continuing my transgression...
Our heroes come out of a portal on the portal terminal planet. They begin to wander around figuring out their predicament. People come out of one portal and the enter another one. The travellers futz around with a keyboard or something and then collect some sort of device that extends from the wall of the portal. Paranoid truck driver hero looks back at the portal they left and a couple of US military? FBI? Mounties? MiBs? something governmental and scary comes out of it and Truck Driver Hero's paranoia goes into overdrive. The Professor hero is being all studious and rational trying to figure out what the heck is going on here. She is taking notes and looking all geeky. Paranoid Guy is wigging out trying to find a place to hide from the G-Men.

Sorry @maiki I shouldn't have posted that but I done it so I am going to let it stand

Oh my... I hate myself for hinting that I am going to fork your idea and create a new branch but I think that I can work with this idea and maybe keep it from turning into a Stargate clone---
What I am seeing is this portal ship landing in the Pacific Northwest, SW Washington to be precise. A blue collar conspiracy-theorist logging truck driver (my cousin's husband to be precise) happens on the portal. He examines the thing and figures out nothing on his own so he brings along a geek friend, a junior college professor or something and takes her out to examine the thing with him. They come back with all sorts of weird geeky data but reach no conclusions except maybe that it has something to do with the recent Bigfoot sightings in the area or something. They go back out to the location as the government is setting up their stuff in the area and they end up stepping through the portal and end up at the cosmic bus terminal...
This could be fun! Sorry, you triggered my writing gene

I keep coming up with replies to y'all but they all sound so cynical. The bottom line is everyone claims victory and that's a good thing. Everyone can feel good about winning. At the end of the day though nothing changes for good or bad. That's a good thing, I guess. We don't have to feel bad about screwing everything up. All in all I figure it comes out a wash.
Not really a waste of time but it is like kissing a girl through a veil. It's exciting in its way but nothing like the real thing.

Are the elections over? Is it safe to get back online?
I'd ask who won but I really don't care.
-
Says you! What will we post about if not coffee?
-
I see. I never really thought about it but it is useful info in case it comes up again

GS has a heart instead of a star but you may have to be signed into GS to use it. Does this post show up in your timeline in Mastodon? Does the star show up on this post in your timeline?

G'night Sir. See ya tomorrow
-
Dang, that is most kind. Thank you.
-
*cough* I really should be working, I am on overtime here, but I'd really rather play around in the fediverse tonight
-
I know that sentiment exactly! How are you doing my old friend?
-
I keep setting these high-falutin goals for myself and for the most part I hit those goals (some may be slightly modified from the original goal) but to tell the truth most of the time I am amazed that I remember to put on pants in the morning

It looks like someone needs to check their followers list a little more often. I am not going to name any names but whistlewright might need to clean off his glasses and follow some folk

About the same. My tumult started on 14 Nov last year but I think I am going survive and the cause of the tumult is not in prison so I am ok. Well, as you said, I am coming out the other end.
