Algernon really dude make sure you are looking at the home timeline on gnusocial and not the public timeline. The public one makes your heart hurt dude

Maybe if I sat down and studied this the vagaries of dates and #orgmode would reveal themselves to me http://members.optusnet.com.au/~charles57/GTD/org_dates/
Working on my #geekcred

Another play?
-
Let me go check the madton account and see if the nekkid people have disappeared yet
-
Dude! How are you?
-
@lnxw48a1 What kind of fruit? Does #PR have some nice exotic stuff that you can't get around here?
-
I always kinda figured that when the Big One hits in California everything east of the San Andreas will slide off into the Atlantic.
New Madrid kinda casts some doubts on this hypothesis

I have a sketch of a story in the works. It is set in the year 1974ish. World War 2 never ended. Uboats bomb the poop out of the US eastern seaboard and FDR evacuates the east-of-the-Mississipi art of the US and hunkers down and basically becomes a fascist state. Some people flee the west and build a thriving society largely based on the ideals of the American Revolution, ie self-government and freedom

I am so tired of politics. I really don't care. If Nixon didn't destroy this country or the world then we have nothing to worry about. The Orange Wonder doesn't have the brain power of Nixon. Obama didn't save us and neither will Bernie or Beto O'Roarke.
So ready for my homestead out away from everything. My goal in life is to not even know (or care) who is sitting in the White House. Keep your government. I can govern myself thank you kindly.

Only two text messages tonight on the hotly contested Senate seat here in TX. I have turned off the phone's radio and am only running on wifi. This is no biggie. The phone's radio is usually turned off.
But...
It annoys me that these jackinapes are using this tactic. The phone is for my use not theirs. I didn't ask them to call. I am not involved in politics at all.
-
so Gnusocial folks who have stuck around let me ask you this... quitter.se is dead right? I can delete all my followers from there then
-
ya know now that I think about maybe I want to quit using the Debian repo for my emacs and start using the git version. It is most likely more up to date
-
arrgh... trying to get magit on my emacs from the melpa repo. Melpa keeps hanging for some reason.
-
The first linux I ever used was the 06-06 Version of Ubuntu. I found some folks somewhere talking about #emacs and downloaded it and began futzing around with it. During that first few attempts at using it it sort of became the holy grail of #geekcred to me. Stupid I know but I figured that only the s00pergeeks used this magical text editor. Now I know that the text editor kind of sux but #orgmode is still a holy grail of sorts
-
You know if I would have stayed with #emacs and quit all the bouncing around that I do I would be an expert at it by now. I am too curious for my own good.
-
@maiki oops... I think I actually burned one of them this weekend. I said to myself "Self, you ain't ever gonna finish this becasue it sux!" and tossed it in. I didn't realise that I was going to need it a day later...
-
@dickturpin here is one of those wonderful things one sees in the fediverse that makes me want to ask for details but am afraid of what the answer might be so I won't ask or say a thing about it. ;-)
-
I have gone to all of this effort to learn html, css, js, git etc etc using orgmode to make my webpage is very appealing but it almost feel like I am cheating on the effort I have made over the last several months
-
@maiki funny you should say this... The Mrs and I are in the process of minimising for our eventual trek to a rural homestead and we found tax forms that are twenty-plus years old. She thingks we still need to keep them. I took the box to our firepit.
