@Altivo @mawr then there's the general issue that attempting to get answers to any technical questions means dealing with a community that is deeply hostile to questions

when you use Linux you don't just get some bad software, you also are practically forced to deal with a community. this is encouraged in fact, because there is little in the way of reliable documentation. you're supposed to appeal to collective knowledge

@mawr @Altivo that's well and good but meanwhile the rest of us know only that if we want some hope of using a computer without fighting constantly with it it's Windows or nothing

meanwhile Windows gets worse, more and more an instrument of power and autocracy

there's a public duty here that the FOSS community is simply _abandoning_ because they're resting on their laurels
