I'm a little worried about Facebook's plans to use their computer vision algorithms for buildings into #OpenStreetMap. I just don't trust them. They had to be dragged kicking and screaming to actually interact with the #OSM community, and if we're not careful, they'll stomp all over our map.
Usually you have to pay Β£15 to join the #OpenStreetMap Foundation. But many people live in countries which are cut off from international banking, so the #OSMF has a new fee waiver programme. It's good to see it being used, with people from Iran, Kosovo and Liberia joing
"What #OpenStreetMap can be" This is a great write up from long time #OSM contributor (@richardf) about what makes OSM unique and how it can move forward (vector tiles! ππ»π) http://blog.systemed.net/post/15
OpenTripMap is a cool new #OSM based map for tourists. Easy web interface to search and show amenities that people travelling would need. Pretty cool. ππ» https://opentripmap.com/en/
