I've been listening to a podcast about the Heaven's Gate cult, and at one point a former member was talking about how she was paired up (as all members were) with a "crazy guy", and she wasn't thrilled about it.
Imagine how loony someone's got to be to be known as the crazy one in an End-Times UFO suicide cult.
I'm glad we got to see this part of the story on screen. Amos' weird friendships are some of the best parts of The Expanse. Maybe some day we'll get to see his time with Teresa D. also, in some form or another.
I know nothing of the comics, or the extent to which they've been adapted for WandaVision, but at this stage in the game my suspicion is that Wanda has gone a bit nuts in grief over Vision's death and has created a fantasy world to live in where everything's OK and he's not dead, and some organization called S.W.O.R.D. is trying to manage her and/or snap her out of it without making her go completely nuclear.
The tea wine I started on 12/22 is still bubbling pretty vigorously, now 30 days on. I'm still fairly new at this, but I would have expected it to peter out by now. No sign of trouble, it's just taking a long time.
Essentially, it means doing something, and also failing to do that thing. You can literally have "an oversight due to a lack of oversight". I declare this to be stupid.
Put simply, the revisionist Western steers away from, or plays against, formula, refusing to romanticize the Old West or depict it as a place with clear good guys and bad guys. It also tends to emphasize the grimier, more unpleasant aspects of life in the American West. One litmus test: If you see flies buzzing around a corpse, you’re probably watching a revisionist Western.
One great feature Diaspora could have is to "turn off comments" for certain users' posts in your stream. There are a few I don't mind following, but I could do without all the crazy mouth-breathers "derp derp derp"-ing on every post.
I get that people are relieved Trump's gone and want something to celebrate, but let's not get too excited here. No President is going to save you. That's what Trumpers hung their misguided hopes on, and look what it got them.
Celebrating regime change by opening a bottle of my first batch of mead, which is (semi-)coincidentally 3 months old as of yesterday. There's definitely room for improvement, but it's very drinkable. I think I'm going to pop the bottle in the fridge for a bit and try it chilled.
At long last, an actual grape wine, just using store bought grape juice. I'm not sure how awesome it will be as a red wine, but if it's not great on its own I'll use to to make sangria. Should be ready by summertime. 🍇
