Why is it taking so long? Anyone know the details of how duplicity does the deduplication check? Maybe I'm missing a processor feature? This should be 99% local, but CPU, IO, and network are all close to idle. - 2/2

Running an open source project means investing in #community at least as hard as you invest in engineering. Anything less is proprietary development with an open door. - 3/3

MS Edge is moving to #Chromium engine. Microsoft is finally going to develop an open source browser - or at least as open source as Google does.
This is essentially a bet that the browser engine wars are over. If that's right, the only way to influence web and de facto standards is to have a seat at the chromium table.

@timapple
I can tell you that a custom ROM is a must on Samsung devices. Otherwise you're stuck with fucking Bixby. -

#Redis "commons clause" is a disaster for #opensource. it:
- removes 1 of the 4 fundamental freedoms
- hurts the "open source" brand by breaking FSF/OSI definitions, but keeping the name
- promotes license bait-and-switch as a business model
- proves the FUD right: someone hired the maintainer and changed the license
- kills a great OSS project. no one will trust RedisLabs' modules again.If you don't want someone monetizing your product, CHOOSE A RECIPROCAL, "FREE SOFTWARE" LICENSE.
