@phenethylamine I'd use Deezer if I were actually otherwise subscribed to Spotify. At the moment am only using free service (hence the ads).

@Skoll3 Apparently some advertisers don't know what they're doing and make high-load elaborate animations knowing that they have no idea how far and wide and where it will distribute/circulate in the web. Can you imagine having a very low-end old device and not being able to use adblock whatsoever?

It is easy to mistakenly perceive a higher degree of control when environment is synchronized with internal states and processes. That's why some of the more cognitive-behavioral treatment regimes are connected to circadian rhythms directly (e.g., better sleep) or indirectly (diet and exercise).

Interestingly, if depressive realism hypothesis only applies for locus of control it would be complementary or consistent with observations of recovery from or treatment of depression insofar as they involve granting a degree of concrete, material empowerment.

Basically, it may be more scientifically useful to disentangle the objects of judgment under the hypothesis. That studies since then show mixed results is probably because the hypothesis is too broad.

The depressive realism hypothesis is probably false because it tries to say too much. The initial study was related to locus of control *specifically,* and it was thought depressed people had a more realistic appraisal of degree of control over life events. That's not the same as having an over-all realistic outlook--there may be accurate perception in regard to degree of personal control over events, but inaccurate perception of the state of the world, for example.
