pettter ✅"This, of course, was the perfect time for another world gen non-reproducibility bug, which I've been working on for two full days. I've traced it from the main necromancer being assassinated (or not) in the year 205, to a migration happening (or not) in year 183 week 40, to a debt being to one city or another in week 38, to whether or not a site wanted stone cabinets, to the size of their meat stockpile in 183 week 2, to ten particular stacks of meat which have random amounts even when the world seed is the same."
Assange - has admitted to essentially rape - did some good with Wikileaks - hasn't done good in a fucking long time - skipped out on his house arrest in the UK (which is a crime) - should not be extradited to the US (which are well known to hold barbaric and politically motivated trials and punishments) - especially not for anything WIkileaks-related - probably shouldn't have lost asylum rights (it's a super dangerous precedent) - was not being "illegally detained" in the embassy - he could've walked out at any time to face the music - was, by all accounts, a fucking nuisance and embarassment to have in the embassy

pettter ✅Chat protocols are Fun Things to Hack Together, and have some thorny issues that are interesting problems in their own right. However, if your goal is to be The New Thing, don't. You will run into all the same issues that other protocols (notably XMPP) have already had to tackle several times with the current status being An Acceptable Tradeoff. If we want a global communication standard, we should focus on XMPP, as the most general, well-defined and decentralised alternative available, with many different implementation both of servers and clients, not to mention a broad range of small, medium, and large servers.
