My brain has become impressively adultish when it comes to waking up at reasonable hours even when staying up late. Stayed up till 4. No alarm set. Still woke up at 9, only an hour later than usual.

The motherboard in question is an Asrock X470 Fatal1ty Gaming ITX/ac. If anybody has any tips on why Windows 10 might fail with the error code above when installing from a box fresh official Windows 10 USB stick, drop me a note.

Me and my roomie spent the entire evening building his new gaming computer and trying to get it to work. At first, it didn't power on. Turns out that a power cable wasn't plugged in properly. Then the Windows 10 installer failed with code 0x80070570, which is the code for a corrupted file... from box fresh store bought USB stick. He has another store bought USB stick that we're going to try tomorrow once he finds it. We stayed up until 3 before calling it a night.

@tiphra Oh, and then I made the edges change lengths at random, to make it more interesting.

@tiphra An experiment. I wanted to see what would happen if I made a graph where every edge pushes or pulls at its vertices to maintain a desired length, a bit like a spring or piece of rubber.

@clacke NRK does have its radical (as in socialist, as in deliberate use of working class language for the sake of solidarity) elements.

@clacke I could figure out. But people on forums are saying that the dictionary didn't always allow both. I think it's a matter of descriptive versus prescriptive grammar. I've always been taught that kuer/kuene is wrong. It's certainly suggestive of lower prestige to say it that way.

Because linear momentum made the graph drift off the screen, I had to add some code to recenter it after every frame. I don't know if there is a solution to the angular momentum. It's much easier to measure and subtract translation than rotation.

I made an animated rubbery graph thing in JS. It creates a random graph and the edges have set lengths, and they push and pull at the vertices because they want to stay that length. It turns out that of you write such a program, the graph will develop linear and angular momentum as an emergent effect, because any force that isn't resisted by an equal and opposite force within the graph will cause the entire graph to move or turn.

I made one of those animated rubbery graph things using a HTML5 canvas. It's a bit unstable at the moment, because I'm processing an edge at a time. I should instead compute the forces at each vertex, apply those to a copy of the vertex array, replace the original array with the copy and repeat the process.
