The rubber griptape makes skateboarding while barefoot much more comfortable (and it wasn't too bad to begin with) -

This is a very dormant area of research -

I'm announcing panthera: a #Clojure wrapper around pandas and numpy for all your data sciencey work!
The library is still alpha, but there's already a lot of stuff to have fun with. So give it a run, if you like it star it and any kind of feedback is accepted!!!

@lnxw48a1 😂 Nope, I was just out of it (exhausted) after work and not feeling too social.
Leah and I might go to the fair someday soon. Leah hasn't been to it yet, and I found it fun in years past. :) Last year I gave the final presentation for my hackathon team's project at the fair! -

@kai Yeah. I still think that there's lots of room for creativity within the analytical space — coming up with unique ideas, for instance. But I think that I understand where you're coming from. :) -

In light of Kenneth Reitz withdrawing from maintainership of his projects (e.g. requests), I'd like to post this again:

If you're struggling as a free software maintainer, I'm sympathetic to your position, and I have a guide here on how to responsibly step back from your projects at the pace you need, be it today or next week or next year.

Open request for anyone with any specific feedback on my approach or their interactions with me in my capacity as a free software maintainer to share that feedback. I sync up with my collaborators on these questions fairly often, but not usually the general public. Feedback is taken seriously and acted upon, positive or negative. Here on Mastodon is fine (short-form), or via email (long-form): sir@cmpwn.com.

@kai You got the makings of a data scientist or econometrician -

The #fencing swords arrived. They're much more pointy than I thought they'd be, so the risk of stabbing is higher. Time to buy protective vests! -

"Psychological mindedness refers to a person's capacity for self-examination, self-reflection, introspection and personal insight"

Very cool! I have been wondering if there's a term for this thing. I think that I'm more skilled at this than most. -

Yay, I finally found the book that's the source of something I remembered today about basic mathematical stats! It's *Probability and Mathematical Statistics* by Prasanna Sahoo, and I found the PDF for free here: http://www.math.louisville.edu/~pksaho01/teaching/Math662TB-09S.pdf
