Psychology prof: Having "object permanence" means, of course, understanding that things continue to exist even when we do not perceive them. This is a very basic foundation of everyone's experience, and don't worry, I'm sure no one here lacks it.

@dmw Hi, don't feel pressured, but it's common for new users to write a Public post tagged #introductions with your academic background, research interests, or whatever you feel comfortable sharing, so we can get to know you a bit :)

Pet peeve: cancer trial reports that say they have a descriptive primary endpoint (e.g. "the primary objective was to determine the objective response rate") but then make inferential conclusions (e.g. "this drug is active in this population") without specifying their decisions threshold

@hagen_oskar Depending on the journal's policies, you may be able to deposit the pre-journal-typeset version of the paper in a preprint server
Many journals (that I've seen at least) allow this

@carlcolglazier I love Zotero :zotero:
It's great for screening large sets of published documents for systematic reviews
You can get it to show you all the metadata while you read through titles and abstracts, and you can even set it up so that the 1 and 2 keys mark them for inclusion and inclusion
It's great :)
