I wrote an article for the Mozilla Hacks blog that's a brief technical introduction to ActivityPub. I also provide an intro to my simple #ActivityPub Node.js server.

@clintlalonde @bryanalexander @sleslie @katebowles Wow! I can't remember what go me onto Twitter so early, but I almost immediately found people who shared similar interests to me.
It's the same here on Mastodon, but I guess it's not the same for everyone. I'm hoping the project I'm leading helps decentralised networks become a bit more mainstream among educators!
@sleslie @clintlalonde @katebowles @bryanalexander I think we've all forgotten how crazy Twitter sounded to people back in 2007. There's a lot of normalisation of centralised services that's gone on since then.
Also: my wife *hates* the word 'instance' 😂
1. Do you agree there's a problem to be solved here?
2. Do you honestly think public key cryptography is something that is going to get mainstream adoption? That people are going to add that to their social profiles?
@Downes @mayel Because people have tried that for decades and it still doesnt work.
@js0000 @mayel Well, there's a code of conduct, and each instance has an admin, so...
I wrote a post about something in which I think lots of people on the Fediverse might be interested.
We're proposing to use 'Emoji ID' with #MoodleNet. This post is for a general audience, so doesn't go into much technical detail. I'm sure @mayel could help me out if people have specific questions.

Do you know any artist / reporter / social researcher who would like to go to #35C3 , but didn't get a ticket?
I have one to sell / trade and I would love to pass it to someone who will help the general population to understand hackers better.
