    A prank gone wrong...
    https://mashable.com/article/dmv-vanity-license-plate-def-con-backfire/
A California hacker got vanity license plates "NULL". First he had problems renewing the plates.

After getting one valid parking fine, he's now gotten over $12K in parking fines due to software at a billing company. He's still fighting the invalid fines.

    1. He tried to prank the DMV. Then his vanity license plate backfired big time.
      from Mashable
It seemed like a good idea at the time.

A nice explanation why 5G can interfere with weather forecasts...
    https://www.wired.com/story/5g-networks-could-throw-weather-forecasting-into-chaos/
Basically, the frequency proposed for 5G in the US (24 GHz) is close to the emission frequency measured for water vapor. Other frequencies that could cause problems are 36 GHz (rain), 50 GHz (temperature), and 80 GHz (ice). I am somewhat surprised use of these frequencies aren't banned by international treaty.

A little media deconstruction from "b"

Plenty of examples that refute a WaPo story along with plenty of examples of Trump actions to the detriment of Russia.

@jeremiah Pounds per day - generally four (or just under 30000), though backpackers get by with half that with freeze dried food.
Tooth to tail (combat vs non-combat) varies by branch of military but has steadily grown over the years. Was 2% non-combat through 1800's. It changed to 2:1 in WWI, roughly 1:1 at the end of WWII, 1:2 in Korean War etc. By the way, a fighter pilot can have 10 people supporting him and the aircraft.
The caravan is likely a scourge on the communities it passes through.

    Water out of thin air

Well - with the help of a shipping container, wood chips, and some plumbing they can get up to 2000 liters of water per day for $40 each day.

    1. Water out of thin air: California couple's device wins $1.5M
      from AP NEWS
LOS ANGELES (AP) — It started out modestly enough: David Hertz, having learned that under the right conditions you really can make your own water out of thin air, put a little contraption on the roof of his office and began cranking out free bottles of H2O for anyone who wanted one. Soon he and his wife, Laura Doss-Hertz, were thinking bigger — so much so that this week the couple won the $1.5 million XPrize For Water Abundance. They prevailed by developing a system that uses shipping containers, wood chips and other detritus to produce as much as 528 gallons (2,000 liters) of water a day at a cost of no more than 2 cents a quart (1 liter).
