@irina I wasn't addressing the question of credit card, but the question of US vs Europe. I have no idea what people do if they don't have a CC.

@irina I would imagine it's at least and up to the amount they get minus transaction fees. I doubt this is a profit centre for them. :)

@irina I don't know where the law applies, not looked that deeply into it. But whether the law does or doesn't, the software implements the process.

This weekend I installed a bunch (23) of Linux Distros. So many of them don't bother ejecting the "CD" at the end. So when you do a first reboot, you end up back in the live environment.
So silly. Some appear to have 'fixed' this by putting a "boot to hard disk" as first option on the ISO. Even more mad.

@penguin42 hah! I wondered if you'd pick up on that. There is ab option buried quite well to get them to call you. Works well, they call you within a minute or so. They even will call back on another number immediately on a second line if you need to reboot your primary mobile to debug.

@penguin42 The support person suggested I "Just spend it" and then forget about the problem. I haven't figured out how to actually spend it yet.

@ThatGeoGuy @penguin42 If it's not spendable in the play store, why does the rewards app have a big "Spend your play credit" button which takes you directly to the play store? :). I don't think that's the case here.

@penguin42 The money got there as "rewards" in another Google app. Switching profile seems to work in theory (I was walked through that over the phone), but didn't take effect on phone or browser when in the play store app or site. It's infuriating.

I have £35.90 Google Play Balance I can't spend. It doesn't show as a payment method. It's under a second Google "Payment profile" and is inaccessible to me. Spoke to a human at Google who couldn't fix this. I wonder how much of other people's money Google has in their coffers.

Every so often I discover something new (to me) in @kde - today, this neat Memory Information view. Love it. Such a neat way to visualise what I'd normally use top/htop/glances for.

Guy next to me on the flight home was running Windows on his ThinkPad... With the start menu and task bar down the *right* hand side!?! Some people just want to watch the world burn!
