    The US has committed warcrimes, which were exposed
    Agents in the government meddled in elections
    They have colluded with foreign nationals
    And they have normalized torture as a primary method of retaliation

    BUT they keep a veneer of being normal when engaged with outside countries

    This is basically a case were the US's international allies need to stop engage with them, they need to stop trusting them, and the people of the US need to start actively removing the internal forces.

    I mean - no - it's just a boost saying "WTF", and the fact that the US has a bunch of political prisoners is a huge mess, and fucking worrying

    Sure, I agree that it's fucked up and the US is fucked up.

    And Butina's activity being covered up by a government that was exposed by Reality Winner, and then that government maintaining the power to punish both people (allowed Butina to leave the US, whereas harming and likely torturing Winner) *matters*
