♲ @da_667 (da_667@twitter.com): Theres no cost for failure. There are no consequences for ruining peoples lives through inaction. Nobody is held liable. The IT team is blamed, and executives jump out the window with golden parachutes, having quit to either retire or go elsewhere and repeat the process. https://twitter.com/briankrebs/status/1045091640480804864

♲ @da_667 (da_667@twitter.com): @ra6bit I'm not a nihilist. I'm just a realist. You pay me to tell you what you should do. If you choose not to do it, I still get paid.

♲ @Greg 'Giant Drama Ham' Stolze (GregStolze@twitter.com): UNKNOWN ARMIES became, with no real forethought on the part of @JohnScottTynes or myself, a study in how damaging and confusing and destructive systems designed by humans, for humans, can be to humans. In this way, I can't help but feel it mirrored what the internet became.

Someone called me "Not particularly loud" today
I'd hate to hear what they thought was loud

Yeah! But I just prefer to have one form of power gain
Levels, XP, karma, checks, etc problems with "beats" from Chronicles of Darkness or "XP" in D&D is that you end up with XP -> Level -> Goodies. Rather than just "Level, get Goodies"
But yeah - so many systems are just great.
-
Yeah, growth matters, and a lot of the time it's fun. But levels are weird, I prefer XP when it's a currency you spend directly without levels.
-
Milestone leveling itself seems weird. It's just... I don't get it.
My usual is to let my PCs ask for a level when they want it. Sometimes I need to prompt them.

♲ @jerwood (jerwood@twitter.com): Remember when distributed super-computing was about finding aliens (SETI) and curing cancer (FoldingAtHome)? Now it’s just about getting @buttcoin to buy vape juice and own the libs.

AAAAAND now my D&D party wants 3rd level cleric Gnomes to carry around and ask to cast Sending
Cellgnomes
-
Oh no! They now have to deal with a pissed off patron!
-
They canceled their Warlock pact in order to get out of the problems that their Patron was involved in

♲ @arclight (arclight@twitter.com): After the Teach Yourself C++ book, I need to restart this one

>Sam I am.
>Would you like big bugs in RAM?
I would not like them, Sam I am!
>Would you like them in PC’s?
>Would you like some ECC?
I do not like them in PC’s,
I do not want some ECC.
I do not like big bugs in RAM,
I do not like them, Sam I am.

I gave a Ring of Three Wishes in D&D to my players, they've used it twice.
Wish 1: Get directions
Wish 2: Lose three levels

♲ @Gravis Enhanced Edition (gravislizard@twitter.com): They said "do this", the guy refused, they shrugged and said "guess it's a fight." They could have, you know, waited a bit. There's no rush. Per this report he wasn't hurting anyone or making a fuss until they tried to force him to move.
