Smoking area discussion this morning, backups:

They should be called restoration services, not backups. Backups imply they can be forgotten. What you want is to restore when something fails, have it work every time, and across a lot of different scenarios. That is often a lot more than just unpacking some files. Fast reliable restoration takes a lot of time and money.

I'm not at all surprised DJT's approval rating is so high. There are a lot of people who approve of his policies in private. among folks they feel would sympathize. They would never say that in mixed company.
Unfortunately. I often am mistaken for being a sympathizer when I'm merely a sympathetic listener. So. yeah. I can see the disparity between disapproval and approval in this - 1/2

Sorely being tested by robo spam callers hitting my oncall line.

That happened just once at an ISP I worked at. It was a slow day, and we needed to bleed off some stress. Since these people were obviously harassing us with illegal calls, we decided to flood their phone switch with legit calls. We hit them with every line we had, every call center staffer, every NOC from across the US. Nonstop until their scummy CEO called and threatened us. Then we did it some more until he apologized.
