worth mentioning: a couple of awesome folks have reached out from other towns, and i appreciate it!
my resources (local clinic/doctor, my cptsd therapist, etc.) and social fabric are in toronto, so moving to another town would upend all of that — something i can’t afford to do rn
just got word from my friend who works for TPL (and who has a trans daughter) that the TPL Palmerston branch is allowing the hosting of Meghan Murphy on October 29th, and flyers are being posted around the city
@shoutcacophony i see this cognitive dissonance in folks who may not be making a lot relative to their zip/postal, but two things:
1) folks in that zip/postal not in tech (i.e., service sector, manual labour, etc.) making far less are hurting 10x or even 100x worse;
2) folks in tech who make enough to spend on leisure stuff (not problematic, ipso facto) doing so by reifying their "citizenship of consumption" (welcomed in BID/BIAs where cleansing action of gentrification happens)
