The Hollow Knight community is … dedicated. There is a 60 page well-structured Google docs document of detailed and well-founded theories regarding the new Silksong game – based on a ~2 minute trailer and a developer video. #hollowknight #silksong

A while back, @glasnt asked Twitter for features people would like to see in a conference/CfP system. I've put together a response für pretalx, showing which features are supported, which are planned, and how the community can help: https://pretalx.com/p/news/feature-requests-welcome/

@clue404 Seems like it would be tremendously easier to pull in regular intervals. Rebuilding the index page every couple of minutes shouldn't hurt all that much, I'd say.

@ninja @mathieu For a large variety of reasons, I'm not moving to Pipfile any time soon. Many of my environments rely on a setup.py, and I'm not willing to have separate workflows between the two of them.

@mathieu Huh, switching from virtualenvwrapper to pew seemed a lot of effort for the one missing feature I just solved in a one-line alias at first, but pew looks interesting enough to tempt me. Thanks for the tip, I think I'll look into it later!

Activate the virtualenv named like the root of your git repository (my current sensible venv naming scheme):

    alias work='workon $(basename $(git rev-parse --show-toplevel))'

As the last schema.org release was in 2017, I'm a bit afraid on beating a dead horse by going with them …

Okay, so asking the Fediverse is asking for biased opinions, but here it goes: If you were to specify an API format for a service, would you choose to go with schema.org definitions/fields and JSON-LD?

Haha, Assignment Expressions will land in Python 3.8, but so far they're only in the changelog, not in the big "What's new" post. I was worried there for a sec!
Emily Morehouse (who authored the change) wrote a couple of days ago that she's in the process of finishing the docs, so all's well :)

The Tragedy of Systemd is a wonderful talk by Benno Rice, which I highly recommend to anybody with opinions on systemd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_AIw9bGogo

He talks about attitude regarding change, and contempt culture, and the ideas that made systemd happen. It's a very informed calm discussion of both systemd features and community development. It's once again confirmed my positive impression of the BSD communities. #systemd
