every time I hear trotskyism explained, it doesn't sound too bad. I agree with all of it that I feel I understand. But every time I hear about people or orgs that are trotskyist, they are wieners. I don't know why this is.

The way wealth moves around in capitalism is that is actually doesn't move around that much at all save from generation to generation. A rich person today once stole the work of unfree people. A successful company today once benefitted from unfree labor. Wealth concentrates into fewer and fewer hands. Marx and the other thinkers who pointed this out were right. Show me a wealthy person, I'll show you someone who benefitted from exploitation, if not outright slavery.

a friend told us about a local biz we liked a lot that is shutting down because the owners had a coke problem and stole from the company to feed it until it closed. Now everyone is out of a job.
