Aliexpress is Great sale now...

That's a different look. A bit edgy...

I am also amused by the fact that in the Esolang language list, there are 58 languages containing "fuck" in the name.
-
Earlier this week, I saw some polyglot code which could be run as (I think) Perl, Python or Ruby. This just one-upped that in terms of weirdness.

Esolang - Chicken
Chicken is an esoteric programming language by Torbjörn Söderstedt, in which "chicken" is the only valid symbol.
A chicken program consists of the tokens "chicken", " " and "\n". Every line has a number of chickens separated by spaces. The number of chickens corresponds to an opcode. Trailing newlines are significant, as an empty line will produce a "0" opcode.
I wonder if it has any GTK+ bindings?

@dsh It's a shame none of these were ever finished, each of them look like something I would enjoy.

In the interest of maintaining a history of my game development attempts (and set a place aside for future projects), I've gone ahead and set up a Game Development Wiki that focuses on things I've worked on. Many of the existing resources have been lost to time, but there are some promising leads regarding old file backups.
The most fleshed-out page currently is for Space Quest 3 VGA, a remake that I attempted when I was around 15/16 years old. Prior to abandoning this project, I handed off the source code to Steve from Infamous Adventures, a team working on a VGA remake of Space Quest II. Earlier this year, Steve told me that he still had the backed-up files, which has allowed me to go through and screenshot the best-looking parts.

I thought about that, and even tested it, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case.
I'll dig around in my log later tonight when I have time. :)

Just thought of something - we have in the past had issues related to undesired interplay between the default theme and custom themes. While the custom theme may be fine and not have any inherent bugs, some weird behaviour may be related to the fact that the site itself uses a different theme and there may be subtle conflicts in the way these are loaded. Would be interesting to find out if setting the theme to the base theme momentarily fixes these issues.

I believe you're going to require the php log to get to the bottom of this.
-
Can just confirm that when I'm logged in as my Git channel, visiting the ping page loads instantly, and does in fact produce an interface. But it doesn't work for my main channel.
More investigation to follow...
-
Hmm, visiting deadsuperhero.com/ping loads instantly, but the page is completely white.
-
In the absence of JS errors, visit $yoursite/ping and see if this takes an inordinately long time to load. There may be a particular query which needs a better DB index.
The white page is almost always a PHP syntax error, and may require PHP logging to track down (this happens at a much higher level than the hubzilla log). I haven't seen this particular error. See the last half dozen or so lines in your .htconfig.php file if you've never enabled this log before.
-
@Hubzilla Support Forum+ I'm not sure these two things are related, but my channel has had these two problems for a while now:
1. The notifications widget does not show up in my sidebar unless I wait for a really long time. The weird thing is that this doesn't affect any other channels on my hub; just my main one. I can verify that this problem isn't being caused by any of my themes, and everything works as advertised for my other channels. My Git channel seems to load the notifications widget instantly.
2. When I visit the Channel Manager URL, I am greeted by a blank white page.
I'm going to crank up my logging to look into what kind of errors are showing up, but has anyone had to deal with anything similar here?

Getting Caldav working with KDE Plasma / Kontact was quite easy. Not 100% intuitive, but easy to find.
Yeah, I've definitely noticed that Gnome / KDE apps are the most forgiving when it comes to interacting with WebDAV so far. Mike's tip on using Evolution to connect with my Hubzilla account was an absolutely great answer for getting the Calendar Sync to work in Gnome's native calendar app.

Looking forward to the Theme Development bits!

Haha, there are so few of us that I'm practically the only Mac user I tried a bunch of URL variations but I can't get it to connect.

Sorry to be annoying - has anyone gotten Hubzilla CalDAV working with macOS?
@Andrew Manning?

I'm able to add the account through the macOS "Internet Accounts" menu, but the calendar itself does not seem to be available in the macOS Calendar app.
It's not the biggest deal, but being able to demonstrate usage through Android, Linux, and Mac kind of illustrates the appeal of using Hubzilla as an iCloud / Google Apps replacement.
At the very least, happy to say that everything works on Android, Linux, and the web interface.
