every day i get more and more angry about the Medium paywall and how much tech knowledge is being locked up behind it.

i used to like that old model where folks had a personal blog with rss feed but also a social profile where they tossed short thoughts and then links to a post when they made one.

it was a nice balance. discovery was simple but we didn't have something like Medium acting as the big ugly middleman.
