We've had a Wii for a fortnight now: every day I play it, the game gets incorporated into my dreams.

Last night: The rhythm heaven game became a 'clock' for the running of society - if I didn't hit the second hand at the exact time a bit of the world exploded - I realised the futility of top-down clock keeping and shared the responsibilities. After that was decentralised I had to cut down - like in Zelda - all the centralists that wanted to run the clock themselves fearing others incapable.

@strypey I think there's also a narrative being pushed to discredit the Web in general at the moment. Precisely because it is better than centrally controlled and state-censored broadcasting in many ways. Just look at how NYT & Co are suddenly able to claim that they are the ones protecting the world from bullshit, when it was them who provably indoctrinated audiences with BS and fake news for decades.

dear website designers:

that thing you do, where i scroll down and down and when i hit the bottom of the article, oh whoops! suddenly i'm at the top of a completely different page?

that is fucking abysmal design. it's user hostile. it makes your website unusable. it makes me NEVER EVER want to come back to your website. for anything. more to the point, it tells me that YOU don't want to use your website either. and nor do the people who pay you.

So, it looks like pretty much all of the real world offerings in terms of #coop hosting and digital infrastructure are aimed at the retail market. Fine if I'm buying services as a consumer or a small organisation.
If we are serious about growing the #platformcoop movement don't we need a full blown cooperative cloud service. Could all of these burgeoning tech coops collaborate to create such a thing? Cloud may be a commodity, but it sure looks like it's making a pile of money for Jeff Bezos.
