@mayel I think this is a very good idea, not only on the application level, but also for instances and end users. It would be a much better way than word-of-mouth and public-service-announcement block recommendations.

"Smart" and networked proprietary devices should be very much called what they are: dystopian junk.

If you want a less polemic term, use "automated surveillance devices," but really all of these TVs, home assistants, toasters, fridges, smoke detectors, etc. are dystopian junk.

We need "low tech" appliances, and we need personal computing devices that are, by design, fully controllable by the people using them.

The lack of revolutionary potential in most existing co-ops is one of the many reasons why cooperative/collective economic projects should already incorporate an inherently anarchist approach at the founding level, and options for long-term horizontal scalability via federation with politically & structurally compatible projects shouldn't be an afterthought.
Worker co-ops shouldn't be isolated. Instead, they should have the clear potential to be integral parts of a bottom-up needs-based economy.

Except "rogue" is a very misleading term. Contemporary surveillance capitalism is pretty much a logical development of capitalism in an age of digital storage, reproduction, and linkage of information.
