@PresGas That's actually largely what I talk about in the episode. Fossil is more different, I guess, than I'd have expected. Fun to learn, but you have to be in the mood for a change.
@thaj Yeah, I reject the pay to play thing. I mean, I respect that that's their business model and that it funds the machinations of their game production, but it's not for me. I like that I can benefit from the trickle-down of a well-designed game, though.
More Conan the Barbarian lore! Learn about Aquilonia, the ancient kingdom between the wild Bossonian Marches and the kingdom of Nemedia. Will Aquilonia hold fast against the Pictish hoard, or will its own internal political strife tear it apart first?
@alfred That's a big question, and I'm heavily biased to Git because it's the first versioning system I learned. I've been enjoying fossil. Not sure yet how I'll be using it in the future.
@archer72 I'm a fan of ogg, mkv, webm. I have no problems with any of those. Depends on purpose, I guess.
My custom ffmpeg build mostly just brings in all the codecs, except for a few highly experimental ones. Other than that, there aren't any mysterious optimizations or anything like that. I just like to be able to ingest and output *anything*.
@brandon@cobra2 I actually like your method. I know really big projects have a real need for a structured https://semver.org/ system, but for a lot of stuff, the date plus a build number seems simple and logical.
@brandon I'm not sure how you mean. Commit hashes, once created, can't really be altered. You eBook build would be its own hash, and you'd probably want to tag it.
