I work in technology and I think that humanity needs to remember that at the end of the day technology is only as good as our social constructs.
Technology should work to serve nobler goals, not serve hedonism or temporary greed.
Advancement for advancement's sake is not noble without purpose.
We must build things that last. All things crumble to dust eventually, but the legacy it leaves should aim to be positive.
A lot of technology I see being made seems to do far more harm than good.

so Kiwi Farms has set up an instance here and I would like to explain why this is very bad, worse than gab in my opinion. for those who don't know, Kiwi Farms is a community dedicated to finding neurodivergent people, and making a spectacle out of mocking them, harassing them, doxing them and documenting everything they do. they are most well known for their harassment of 'Chris Chan', a lower functioning autistic trans woman who has been internet 'famous for about a decade and that's all down to their documentation of her and continuous harassment.
kiwi farms is bad news, they're dangerous, more so than the edgy memelords of gab.

I was really scared what she'd think about either of those things. She never talked much about trans folk, although we had them in our home a few times. She had spoken ill of someone who was poly, but that was more her speaking ill of the fact that person was really doing it to save their marriage. Which btw, never works.

My mother is cool about trans people. She doesn't give a shit and really tries with my pronouns. She admits it's hard for her to shake that she had a son, but she really does do her best and loves me anyway.
More people should be like my mother.

Honestly there is basically constant erasure of trans men from online trans communities. I don't know how much of it is intentional (surely some of it is), but it's unacceptable. I know I rant a lot about this, but to me it *matters.*
