Really sounds like the vulnerability for PGP is really more akin to XSS more than anything. So email clients that only understand plaintext should be fine.

@sim The nice thing is that you don't necessarily have to use the Tweetdeck-style UI even on Mastodon. There's alternative web clients like Pinafore and Halcyon that provide a more traditional single column interface.

Pleroma is definitely not going the way of the Tweetdeck UI. There's been a lot of work on the FE recently.

@angristan My only issue is that ES is a heavy Java application which means if you are on a server with not a lot of resources, you'd have to give up text search. Mastodon is already heavy as it is.

Privacy wise, you are already posting on the public internet, so any attempt to prevent datamining on that is futile.
