@jeremiah that's actually common conception. There are some academic study about various open source on society, but i think mostly are objectively inconclusive, as it is a political hot topic.

it's, good exercise for the fingers, and increases one's alacrity, reduce health risks of boredom of the dreary 9 to 5, increases rapport with coworkers, jolt energy to your blood stream, and also, increases brain cells growth and synapsis firing, and good exercise at creative writing!

@jeremiah open source began as a revolt against Richard Stallman's FSF ideology. Open Source and FSF are at war. One thing rms hates the most is someone calls his FSF as open source. He gets very angry.

@jeremiah internet advertising, existed back in 1999 and before. And, just like today, people kept complaining, and using tricks to block. Except, today, it's a magnitude worse. That it is impossible to block, unless you don't use google, facebook, twitter phone, etc. But open source created side effect problem, that one have to use these or be a hermit.
