Day 2 of IWC Utrecht was hack day. Some great stuff - an indieweb search engine, an OPML to Microsub importer, a look at Yarns, lots of geo data stuff, actual blog post writing and book reading tracking.

I installed Matthias' WordPress ActivityPub plugin and initial tests suggest that it works great - to the extent that I think I'm going to set it up on my main site when I get chance.

I'll write some full blog posts about Utrecht and my hack day project when I get some downtime.

Utrecht -> Rotterdam!

Looking forward to checking out Rotterdam. Second biggest city in Holland after Amsterdam, with Utrecht being the 4th. Interested to see the contrast between the two.

Rotterdam suffered the most during WWII, so I expect the architecture will be more modern. Probably a more urban, less bohemian vibe. Let's see!

Also I believe some parts of Rotterdam are 6m below sea level, so I imagine there will be a lot of dykes (somewhere)

Utrecht is a lovely city too. Picturesque canals. Little independent shops and cafes. Trees and plants all over the place. Bikes everywhere.

Hi-fi & TV store Richer Sounds moves to employee ownership.

Looks like it's an employee stock ownership plan rather than a co-op model so the headline about 'handing over control' seems a bit wrong? Not an expert, any coop gurus know the details?

I don't read the papers so I didn't see it happen, but apparently the UN's biodiversity report got buried in the UK press in favour of the *royal baby*.
