We made our position clear at https://matrix.org/blog/2020/01/02/on-privacy-versus-freedom. Time may tell which is right. But we're not deliberately throwing shade. Which blog post are you talking about from when we added E2EE? https://matrix.org/blog/2016/11/21/matrixs-olm-end-to-end-encryption-security-assessment-released-and-implemented-cross-platform-on-riot-at-last is positive if anything about Signal?
