@0 I will probably never find it as a quick search returns nothing. I do recall needing Tor to ascertain anonymity on ZeroNet which is less than ideal.

@orekix Agreed. What we need is federation but in godemperor C running on 'smart' devices around the home so I can feel like I'm not talking to myself when I'm offline.

Which Programming Languages Use the Least Electricity? - The New Stack
      from The New Stack
Can energy usage data tell us anything about the quality of our programming languages? Last year a team of six researchers in Portugal from three different universities decided to investigate this question, ultimately releasing a paper titled “Energy Efficiency Across Programming Languages.” They ran the solutions to 10 programming problems written in 27 different languages, …

The one thing I can't get behind is using a network like ZeroNet but still needing Tor for anonymity.

@0 I want to believe ZeroNet is good, I really do. I'm not convinced and I'm sure there has been write-ups of its vulnerabilities, I can't seem to find them though.

@pantsu You could, or you might be better off helping existing efforts. Competition is good but too many competing standards hamper adoption.

@louisoft01 When VPNs get blocked (not if) I might consider being done with this internet and embrace I2P. I love it despite its Java roots.

@louisoft01 Correct. Tor has pluggable transports to disguise traffic as something else like Skype so it passes through even strict censors.

Ideally we'd ditch this internet. It sucks.

@pantsu ISPs generally have an eye on what's happening on their network. In the UK only Virgin Media don't seem to care unless they're made to take action while BT and Sky are very observant.

@louisoft01 On Virgin Media and when I changed the DNS for TPB all those years ago it still failed to connect. I needed Tor.

On the other hand BT don't even block HTTPS traffic when someone hasn't paid their bill.

@louisoft01 Can confirm, kind of. Even if the DNS succeeds the connections that follow don't. A VPN, Tor, or some other tunnel, would remain the best ways of avoiding UK ISP censorship.
