After some deliberation, we'll be 🌟 opening our registrations 🌟 for a short while.
Gentler Earth is an antifascist space for people who wish for or need what it says on the tin. We hope to be a safe space for you to organize and make friends, to both fight for justice and find kindness.
Fediverse, hearken unto me. I have a mighty need, and only you can help.
I require articles about things millennials have killed or are killing. As many as you can bring me. Major things or insignificant. Cold takes or hot. Moderately or extremely stupid. Personal or statistical. Everything you've got, as long as you can provide a link to the source.
I wish to admire our handiwork, and the angst it has inspired. I crave this as one lost in the desert craves drink.
Sort of a desperate appeal to the #Seattle / Puget sound area - one my local comrades is a young trans woman who moved here to support her girlfriend as she moved out of a transphobic and abusive household. They're now trying to find housing, but their income is just enough to keep paying for temporary housing through AirBnB and they don't even have surplus to pay apartment application fees themselves.
If anyone around here is either looking for roommates, or has any space (even basement/floor/attic space) in their house where they could have shelter for awhile for less than the like $400/week they're paying AirBnB, that would be a lifesaver for them.
Boosts appreciated to reach the Seattle trans/radical fediverse as much as I can.
Probably the biggest load of groceries I've transported on my #bike so far (eBike, no trailer). Who needs a car for closeby shops? :) #pushbike#bicycle#eBike
Never add nitrates to soil already deficient in carbon without adding more carbon (either in the form of biochar, or mulch, or other organics like compost) because nitrates in soil actually increase the rate at which carbon in the soil is converted to gaseous forms (CO2 or Methane depending on how much oxygen is in the soil), you want to keep that carbon in the soil as it will be converted to humic and fulvic acids which complex with mineral ions helping the bacteria, fungi, and plants in that soil get what they're need.
@MH I'm so amazed at the work that's been put into it all, what an achievement! I'm stragu@movim.eu if you want to find me / do some testing. Not that I'm active there, but every time I check out what the project's up to, I wonder why it's not more popular.
@activationfxn thanks, Pocketed that. Being involved in other people's projects at uni makes me realise how many things can and do go wrong at all the different stages of the process. I've been comparing the research ecosystem to a house of cards lately. But yes, you are right: we are talking about it, we reveal more and more issues, and we seem to be mining towards more openness and accountability 🤘🏼
Hey, y'all-- Facebook recently announced they're launching a "Patreon killer" service.
Regardless of your thoughts on Patreon, FB's alternative is TERRIBLE!
⚠️ 30% gross revenue fee ⚠️ Automatic LIFETIME IP rights to ANYTHING you put on the service even if you quit! ⚠️ FB wants to give discounts and freebies whenever they like, w/o creator approval, and then deduct it from creator revenue ⚠️ FB will also control WHO sees your content and how many views you have
Do you feel like, maybe, when we say "standing on the shoulders of giants", we should really be saying "precariously balancing on the shoulders of a giant steaming pile of shit"?
